The «BiotMetrics» program was developed to unify and simplify the procedure for calculating biotic indices and other indicators reflecting water quality, to familiarise users with their structures, and to teach calculation algorithms. Well-known metrics widely used on major rivers and water bodies around the world are employed for bioindication of pollution. Some of them are proposed in modified forms adapted to the characteristics of the faunal composition of water bodies of different types in Ukraine.

The «Saprogram — ZB» program was created to unify and simplify the procedure for calculating saprobity index values using indicator organisms from macrozoobenthos and macrozooperiphyton communities. The calculation algorithms are based on a logical-heuristic approach in accordance with the classical methods: Pantle-Buck in the modification of Sládecek, and Zelinka-Marvan with the saprobity index expressed according to Rothschein in the modification of Todorascu. In parallel, a modernised saprobiological index is calculated using the Chertoprud method. The program uses lists of indicator taxa from the most widely cited literature sources, with calculations for each conducted separately. It is possible to work with various combinations (mixes) of them.

The «StatVo» program was created for the integrated use of similarity and originality coefficients. The program allows calculation of the main similarity coefficients in extended forms for qualitative and quantitative comparison of communities. It implements a comprehensive approach to their use, protected as a utility model patent. Additionally, the main indices of biological and species diversity, as well as individual saprobiological indicators, are calculated.

In the «Saprogram — ZB» and «StatVo» programs, the input data are working species lists of hydrobionts with corresponding quantitative indicators in the form of Excel tables.
